The Pretty Reckless Announce US Headline Tour in Support Of Debut CD, Light Me Up
Nashville Rockers A Thousand Horses Also Join Tour
The Pretty Reckless, fronted by Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen who is the face of Madonna’s “Material Girl” clothing line and John Galliano’s newest fragrance “parlez-moi d’amour”, will hit the road in support of their full length album, Light Me Up available digitally in the US on February 8th via Interscope Records.
Light Me Up debuted on the UK’s rock chart at #1, spending 6 consecutive weeks at the top of the chart. The single debuted on the main chart at #6. The Pretty Reckless performed at this year’s Bamboozle Festival and on the entire nationwide run of this year’s Vans Warped Tour. Rollingstone.com picked TPR as one of the five breakout bands to watch at this year’s festival and Spin.com called Momsen’s songs “pretty kickass.” The video for the focus track, “Just Tonight” can be viewed at http://bit.ly/JustTonight. The songs are all written by Momsen, her producer Kato Khandwala (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, All Time Low) and guitarist Ben Phillips.
Nashville, Tennessee rockers A Thousand Horses also hit the road in support of their self-titled EP out now on DGC/Interscope/Vanhowes Records, and will support label mates The Pretty Reckless. Determined to capture their music in a live setting, straight to tape, with everyone in the same room, the band recorded their EP in six days in Silver Lake, CA with producer Dave Cobb at his home-built 1974 Studios. The result is a five-track introduction to the band’s unabashed brand of riff-driven rock and roll.
“We tracked it all live. Some of the songs on it are from just first or second takes,” says singer Michael Hobby. “We used vintage gear. We used things that we like. That’s what we wanted to make: a live, raw, real record and when people come to see us play, they’ll find out that we didn’t give ‘em something that we can’t deliver.”
Comprised of lead singer Hobby, the band’s lineup is rounded out by Bill Satcher (lead guitar), Graham Deloach (bass/backing vocal), Zach Brown (guitar/backing vocal), and Shane Lenzen (drums).
Lead single, title track, and band namesake “A Thousand Horses” also features Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson. Runner Runner will also support The Pretty Reckless on their headline tour.
